There are lots to talk about and a lot of ways you can save electricity.
Just how do you save electricity and why should we care?
First…allow me to tell you a story.
We recently moved into a new house…A much bigger house, for that matter.
Let me tell you…space in this house is no issue…
When we moved in…we discovered, to our surprise, that the house 3 geysers.
Needless to say…I was panic stricken and alarm bells went off in my head. My biggest fear was the electricity bill. I kept on thinking…there goes our budget.
And for this reason…that feeling of uncertainty…is reason enough for all of us to save electricity.
Why?
First…you don’t want to a shock every month, when you see your electricity bill. Who want’s to spend their hard earned money all on utilities, like electricity?
Secondly, we all need to think about how to effectively use our resources and the reduce our carbon footprint.
We need to stop being wasteful and look after our precious resources.
I know…I know…being winter it is very difficult to use electricity sparingly. We all tend to spend more on electricity…
And the constant price hikes in electricity are not helping at all.
So, what exactly can we do?
Can we really save electricity?
It’s time that we educate ourselves and learn how easy it is to to change our lifestyle and reduce electricity usage.
We all can live a more greener life.
Is this just another tree hugger and save the world post? (Not meant to offend anyone).
Not at all.
I do enjoy living comfortable, but the cost of electricity has really made me think how much money we are really (unnecessary) spending on something that can be easily reduced.
Just replacing you light bulbs with energy saving lamps can already save electricity up to 80% (according to www.philips.co.za).
80% seems optimistic, but I won’t be surprised to see savings of at least 20 to 30%.
Now don’t go out and replace every single light bulb in your house. Replace the bulbs only when needed. Definitely change your outside lights with the energy save lights that comes with a light sensor.
How many times do we forget to switch off the outside light. And sometimes we are forced to keep the outside lights on when we are away from home, only to have some lights on at night.
What a waste of electricity.
The light sensor energy saving lights can save you tons of hours of unnecessary electricity.
Is this site only about changing your light bulbs to save electricity?
Not at all, but it is something we all can do easily and save electricity and have more money in our pockets at the end of the day. No rocket science.
